LOVE MIND DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS OF ITS MEMBERS.
What we do and what we do not do
| Topic | Our practice |
|---|---|
| Criminal record | We do not check it. Our guidelines exclude people with convictions for sexual or violent offenses, but we cannot guarantee that no one lies. |
| Age | We ask for your date of birth when you register and we reject anyone under 18. We may ask for additional verification if there are signs that someone is a minor. |
| Identity | We do not verify the identity of all members. We may ask for verification if there are reports or signs of impersonation. |
| Conversations | Love Mind has no chat. When two people accept each other, each one reveals the contact they chose, such as WhatsApp or Instagram, and you talk there. We do not see those conversations, so we cannot moderate them: if something goes wrong, block the person in that app and report it here. |
| Moderation | We review reports and apply filters to content. Reports that affect people's safety take priority. |
| Suspension and ban | We suspend or ban according to the community guidelines. Anyone affected can appeal. |
| Notices to other members | We do not automatically notify those who had contact with a reported person. If there is a serious risk, we may send a safety notice, without revealing who made the report. |
Prohibited conduct
Everything described in the community guidelines is prohibited, especially conduct that threatens personal or public safety: harassment, violence, threats, exploitation of minors, scams and distribution of intimate images.
Engaging in sexual conduct with another person without their consent violates this policy and criminal laws, and may result in criminal and civil liability.
Tips for safer dating
Anyone capable of committing identity theft can also fake a profile. Nothing replaces caution when a stranger wants to meet you.
Before sharing your contact
- Your contact is revealed only if the two of you accept each other, and you will see a safety notice first.
- Once it is revealed, the other person keeps it even if you delete your account. Share it only if you feel comfortable.
- Consider using an account or a number that does not show your full name or your address.
When talking online
- Do not include your last name, email, address, phone number, workplace or other details that identify you in your profile or in your first messages.
- Stop talking to anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information.
- Never send money or share bank details, even if the story is urgent or moving.
- Be wary of anyone who avoids video calls, promises a lot very quickly or proposes investments.
- Do not send intimate images. If someone threatens to spread them, do not pay, keep the evidence and report it.
When meeting in person
- Tell a family member or a friend where you are going and when you will be back.
- Do not agree to be picked up at home. Get there and back on your own.
- Meet in a public place with people around.
- Watch your drink and your belongings, and keep track of what you drink.
- If something does not feel right, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
